Financing of 186 e-coaches in Danmark

Context
The transition toward decarbonised public transport is accelerating across Northern Europe, driven by ambitious public policies and growing demand for sustainable mobility solutions. Denmark is among the countries most committed to the electrification of urban transport, with strong emissions-reduction targets and public tenders that now increasingly include strict environmental requirements.
In this context, GoCollective, a major public transport operator in Denmark owned by Mutares, continues the progressive transformation of its fleets toward zero-emission solutions to meet evolving expectations from transport authorities and local communities.

The challenge

The large-scale deployment of electric buses raises several structural challenges:

  • mobilising significant financing for assets and infrastructure still in the industrialisation phase;
  • integrating vehicles, charging infrastructure and operations simultaneously within an economically viable model;
  • securing operational transition while maintaining service quality for passengers;
  • supporting multi-territory public contracts with demanding deployment timelines.

For GoCollective, the objective was to accelerate the conversion of its networks while preserving financial flexibility and investment capacity.

Our solution

Through its new investment platform Neot e-motion, dedicated to low-carbon mobility assets and infrastructure across Europe and OECD countries, Neot Capital structured a comprehensive financing solution enabling:

  • the progressive deployment of 186 BYD electric buses;
  • the installation of 93 Efacec charging stations;
  • phased commissioning through mid-2026 across three Danish regions: Central Jutland (Midttrafik), Funen (FynBus) and Greater Copenhagen (Movia).

This integrated approach combines asset financing, energy infrastructure and operational support to ensure both financial performance and industrial efficiency.

Results & impact
Large-scale deployment

  • 186 electric buses deployed across several strategic regions in Denmark.
  • Direct contribution to the electrification of major urban routes, including Copenhagen’s 5C line, the busiest bus line in the Nordic countries.

Environmental impact

  • Significant reduction in emissions linked to urban public transport.
  • Improved air quality and reduced noise pollution in served areas.

Economic and regional impact

  • Support for European electric bus manufacturing and charging infrastructure value chains.
  • Increased attractiveness of public transport across multiple Danish regions.
  • Contribution to the long-term sustainable transformation of urban transport networks.

This operation represents a key milestone in the electrification of public transport in Denmark and demonstrates how integrated financing solutions can effectively accelerate the energy transition.

Why Neot ?

Why Neot?

Neot Capital develops investment platforms dedicated to low-carbon mobility assets, combining financial expertise, industrial know-how and the ability to structure tailored solutions for operators and public authorities.
With Neot e-motion, the goal is to accelerate the scale-up of decarbonised mobility by offering turnkey solutions integrating financing, assets and infrastructure.
This first project illustrates that ambition: enabling operators to focus on operations and service quality while securing the investments required for their energy transition.

Aurélien Achard, Head of Mobility at Neot Capital:

“This project fully embodies Neot e-motion’s mission: structuring tailored financing solutions to accelerate mobility decarbonisation at scale.”
